Located near Gloster, MS, the Forest Retreat is tucked away in the trees and ravines of the 99,000-acre Homochitto National Forest, near McComb and Natchez, Mississippi. Designed to help visitors get away from the sounds and stresses of everyday life, there are no phones, no TV, and no distractions. It is the perfect place for yoga or meditation retreats, writing seminars, family outings and corporate meetings, or a romantic escape with someone you love. Hidden from the world among hickory, oak, beech, magnolia and pine trees, the only sounds to be heard are the whispers of the wind in the branches and the trill of the birds. It’s the perfect getaway that takes you back to the peace and tranquility of nature.

Each of three luxurious cabins, and the Retreat (lodge) are designed to blend into their natural surroundings, with vaulted ceilings, giant windows and oversized doors, which open onto wide balconies or porches overlooking deep, fern-paved crevasses. Each cabin includes a modern kitchen, bath, pot-bellied stove and air conditioning. All are appointed with towels, linens, dishes, silverware, and pots and pans. The cabins comfortably accommodate two to four adults (no children please), and the Retreat accommodates 12 adults (children are welcomed). There is also a 20’ X 40’ turn-of-the-century cypress church, ideal for meetings and conferences.

For reservations call 1-601-225-4975 or visit www.forestretreat.com. Weekday rates are $100 and a weekend stay is $325. Space is limited, so be sure to call well in advance of your desired arrival date.
