Once again we have a new year stretching before us offering countless opportunities to work on being a better version of ourselves. It says something about us as human beings that despite the uncertainty of the world, for the most part we enter into the new year with anticipation and hope. It is also a time for our staff at Well-Being to plan how we will bring our readers what is new and exciting in fitness, health, nutrition, beauty, family life, and green solutions.
In this issue, we have highlighted some of the latest fitness gadgets on the market that use technology to help monitor your health and reach your fitness goals. We only scratch the surface, since there seem to be new devices and apps introduced every day. Throughout 2014, we will cover many ways technology is changing how we look at our bodies, our health, and even the important role heredity can play in determining what risk factors for diseases we should proactively manage. For example, imagine that some day a genetic map, created at the birth of a child, could layout a health management plan for keeping him or her healthy and fit for life.
From the most advanced diagnostic tools to innovations in prosthetics, medications, surgical procedures and even natural solutions rediscovered, the medical world is changing so quickly, sometimes what was new just last year, has already been left in the dust of the next cutting edge development or discovery. It is an exciting time to cover topics about health and wellness and the issues and concerns that affect us at home, at work, and at leisure.
As we enter this new year, we pledge to continue to look for topics that will be of interest to our readers, while providing information to help them live healthier and more fulfilling lives – physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
We invite you to join us in this journey into 2014 and we wish you all a new year filled with happiness, health and well-being.
