JACKSON, Miss. – The 2017 Mississippi Science Fest presented by C Spire is slated for September 22 -23 in Jackson’s LeFleur Museum District. Leaders from the District’s four museums (the MS Children’s Museum, the MS Museum of Natural Science, the MS Museum of Agriculture and Forestry and the MS Sports Hall of Fame and Museum) organized the event to showcase the state’s innovative science, technology, engineering and mathematic (STEM) industries and “inspire the next generation of Mississippi innovators, engineers and visionaries.”
The MS Science Fest, which is sponsored by telecommunications giant and technology services company C Spire, was created to engage students, families, adults and educators in a fun and interactive environment providing science education, workforce development and a glimpse into Mississippi’s future. It will offer special exhibitors, events and programs that celebrate STEM, including STEM-themed field trips to each museum. The keynote address, which is open to the public, will be presented by Fred Haise, Apollo 13 astronaut and Mississippi native.
