The July/August issue of Well-Being represents what you might call the “birthday” of the magazine. Three years ago this month, we were preparing to release the first issue of Well-Being. First, we want to thank our readers and our advertisers who have made this journey possible. Without you, our dream of bringing pertinent information about health, fitness, nutrition, and more, would never have become a reality.
To celebrate our “third” birthday, we want to announce a new project Well-Being is going to undertake in the next few weeks. We have joined forces with our contributing writer, *Rebecca Turner, RD, CSSD, LD, nutritionist, who will help us spearhead the project we will call, “Well-Being Health-Wise Shopping Workshops.” We will begin in a few weeks by promoting the first workshops on our Facebook page, which will be given away to several lucky winners, who register to win a free trip with Rebecca to a local grocery market. The workshop will include a pre-shopping introduction, hands-on instruction on purchasing nutritious selections, and will also offer tips on how to eat healthy on a budget.
We are excited about bringing this experiential aspect to our message about healthy living, that previously was offered only through the pages of the magazine and on our website. Year four for Well-Being is going to be a time when we take our mission to a whole new level. In the coming issues we will have other exciting announcements about how we plan to partner with health, fitness and nutrition experts to reach out to our readers in new ways!
For an opportunity to participate in our first free “Well-Being Health-Wise Shopping Workshop,” follow our Facebook page for instructions on registering. We are finalizing the plans now, but we will make the first announcement very soon. Again, thank you all for making our first three years so rewarding. We promise to continue our commitment to bringing the best Mississippi has to offer in information, insights, and experience in the fields of health, fitness, nutrition, image, family life and green solutions. Please join us on our continued journey to a place we call Well-Being.
