One of the nicest things about what we do at Well-Being is getting to be involved in the health and wellness community. It’s really overwhelming to realize all of the wonderful work that healthcare institutions, organizations and local communities throughout the state do – bringing awareness of health issues, raising dollars to help fund medical research, and going the distance to provide exceptional care and improve access to healthcare for our fellow Mississippians.
We have had the privilege to support some of these efforts this spring and going forward we will be looking for new ways that we can help the organizations and individuals who are on the front lines every day, fighting to bring better health and healthcare to all parts of the state. One way we can do that is by telling their stories. We hope that you will reach out to us and share your stories of groups or individuals you know whose dedication and commitment go far beyond the call of duty to make a real difference. We want to recognize the state’s unsung healthcare heroes by shedding some light on their good works with the hope that their stories will inspire others.
Beginning with our May/June issue, we will recognize one of Mississippi’s standout healthcare heroes with a feature about their life and work. Please help us by liking us on Facebook and posting information about an individual or organization that you want to recommend for consideration.
We hope you enjoy this issue of Well-Being. In case you can’t tell, we are all very glad that spring is here. This issue is packed with ways you can enjoy the great spring weather, from aerobic gardening, to getting back into your exercise routine, and plants to attract butterflies, bees and hummingbirds to your yard or garden. We also have some enlightening information about the effects of daylight saving time, spending too much time on the smartphone and saving for retirement.
Let us know what topics you would like to see us cover in the coming months. As always, we thank you for making Well-Being a part of your lives. Have a happy, healthy spring!
