May is National Stoke Month. Here are some important reasons why stroke awareness matters. Every 40 seconds someone in the U.S. has a stroke. One out of six people will suffer a stroke in his or her lifetime. Stroke is the leading cause of disability in the U.S. and the #5 cause of death.

Despite the tremendous toll stroke takes, the vast majority of Americans do not think of stroke as a major health concern, and one in three is unable to identify all the stroke warning signs. Observe National Stroke Month by learning the stroke warning signs acronym that could save your life or that of someone you love.
