“Don’t Assume” is the Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s 2019 National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month public awareness campaign. The goal of this year’s campaign is to challenge assumptions and misconceptions about colorectal cancer by dispelling myths, raising awareness, and connecting people across the country with information and support.
Excluding skin cancers, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States. When people stop assuming, they get screened, they reach out for support, they pay attention to their symptoms, and they advocate for their health.
